What is Being Taught in the Business of Global Tourism courses and degree programs?

One important aspect of this question and request for assistance is figuring
our where this type of course or degree program is being taught.

Once this has been done, it should be easy to use their websites to determine
who the teachers are and how to reach those professors.

Here is a link that should help substantially with obtaining answers to the
above question.

https://tinyurl.com/ya8zbh8v

The following links will give ideas as to what concepts, issues, research and knowledge
can be shared in a course or degree program about the business of global tourism. Such

curriculum would also be a useful part of Global Studies degree programs and courses.

Since this database is available free to anyone in the U.S. Government version, it is very heavily used.  College administrators are
more likely, I suspect, to look to education books and journals for their knowledge needs than to the publications of specific
academic disciplines and subject fields.  It might be wise for tourism scholars and researchers to focus on getting some of their
publications about tourism education accepted and published in the academic journals in educaton rather than tourism so as to
reach readership that decide on issues related to the disciplines about specific areas of degree programs at their colleges.

Federal Demonstration Partnership

.

.

The Federal Demonstration Partnership is a cooperative initiative among 10 federal agencies and 154 institutional
recipients of federal funds for Phase VI. Our Chair and Vice-Chair are Cynthia Hope from the University of Alabama
and Dr. Sandra Schneider from the University of South Florida. The FDP is a program convened by the
Government-University-Industry Research Roundtable of the National Academies. Its purpose is to reduce the
administrative burdens associated with research grants and contracts. The interaction between FDP’s 450 or so
university and federal representatives takes place in FDP’s 3 annual meetings and, more extensively, in the many
collaborative working groups and task forces that meet often by conference calls in order to develop specific work
products.

.

The FDP is a unique forum for individuals from universities and nonprofits to work collaboratively with federal agency
officials to improve the national research enterprise.

.

Mission

.

The Federal Demonstration Partnership (FDP) is an association of federal agencies, academic research institutions
with administrative, faculty and technical representation, and research policy organizations that work to streamline the
administration of federally sponsored research. FDP members of all sectors cooperate in identifying, testing, and
implementing new, more effective ways of managing the more than $15 Billion in federal research grants. The goal of
improving the productivity of research without compromising its stewardship has benefits for the entire nation.

.

The FDP uniquely offers a forum for individuals from universities and nonprofits to work collaboratively with federal
agency officials to improve the national research enterprise. At its regular meetings, faculty and administrators talk
face-to-face with decision-makers from agencies that sponsor and regulate research. They hold spirited, frank
discussions, identify problems, and develop action plans for change. Then – again working jointly – they test the
new ways of doing things in the real world before putting them into effect.

.

These additional topics are discussed in this document.

Phase III (Federal Demonstration Partnership) 1996-2002
Phase IV (Federal Demonstration Partnership) 2002-2008

Membership

There are four types of FDP membership: Research Institutions, Emerging Research Institutions, Federal Agencies
and Affiliate Organizations. The solicitation for membership in the Federal Demonstration Partnership Phase VI was
issued on February 18, 2014. FDP Phase VI formally began with an inaugural meeting September 11-12, 2015 in
Washington, DC and will conclude September 30, 2020. No new Institutional Members will be added after the initial
selection, although non-members are welcome to attend meetings. More information on Phase VI activities,
conditions of membership, and membership categories may be found in the original Phase VI solicitation.

Drupal Accessibility Quicksheet

“Drupal Core is leveraged by every module & theme on Drupal.org. The
central APIs are critical in setting good standard defaults which are
inherited by sites built with it. This does not mean that all modules
or themes are equally accessible, as individual developers may
overlook or turn off best practices that are defined in Core. It
simply sets default states which can be either ignored or overridden
by the maintainer of the code…”

5 Steps to Prepare For a Moderated Benchmark

By Jeff Sauro.

To make a moderated UX benchmark study more effective use a few
pre-study steps: review the study script, check the tech, perform a
dry-run, run a pilot, and check in with stakeholders. Formalizing
these steps in a simple checklist (like the one here) helps ensure
you’re consistent and minimize common fail points…”

Warning: Your Web Survey is a Lot Less Reliable Than You Think

By David Travis.

“Because surveys usually involve hundreds of respondents, many design
teams value the findings from a survey more highly than the results
from small sample usability tests, user interviews and field visits.
But the results of most web surveys are biassed by coverage error and
non-response error. This means surveys, like most qualitative data in
user research, should be triangulated with other sources of data.”

Over 40 Ways to Improve the UX of Your Online Surveys

By Neil Turner.

“…By not asking the right questions, in the right order, and in the

prototyping - minimizing work and maximizing learning - based on your

By Eric A. Meyer.

I was recently noodling around with some new layout ideas for An Event
Apart’s speaker pages (e.g., Chris Coyier’s or Jen Simmons’) and

A Content Slider

By Heydon Pickering.

“Carousels (or ‘content sliders’) are like men. They are not literally
all bad – some are even helpful and considerate. But I don’t trust
anyone unwilling to acknowledge a glaring pattern of awfulness. Also

Centered Text is Good for Wedding Invitations and Wine Labels, not for the Web

By Deborah Edwards-Onoro.

“…Improve readability of your content by using left-justified text
instead of centered text. It’s easier and faster to read text that
doesn’t force the reader to search for the beginning of each line.”

Zigzag Image-Text Layouts Make Scanning Less Efficient

By Kim Flaherty.

“Decorative images used in an alternating list layout caused users to
stumble when scanning the page in an eyetracking study. Users scanned
efficiently on pages where text and imagery were vertically aligned.”
